Frontend Engineer

Spurt! is a technology solutions company that helps entrepreneurs to build more efficient, more productive, and strategic businesses. Our practice is focused on deployments of technology, human-centred design thinking, and data analytics for business growth and expansion. We leverage digital and social technologies to trigger and nurture the transformative growth of businesses. Our group's operations are clustered into five operating arms: S.T.E.P., Paperclip, Solutions, MadeIn! and SpurtX! 

Spurt! was founded to develop local companies into regional and global giants. Local companies struggle to scale due to bureaucracy, inaccessible financing, organisational challenges, and sub-Saharan Africa’s geopolitical conditions. Our objective is to catalyse and support the growth of large local companies with sufficient scale and capacity to add value locally and regionally.

• Frontend Development: Design and develop interactive user interfaces using React, Vue, or Angular. Translate UI/UX designs into high-quality code while ensuring a seamless experience across all devices.

• Full Stack Collaboration: Integrate front-end elements with the back-end, working with technologies like Node.js or Django. Ensure that the architecture supports responsive and efficient web applications.

• User-Centric Design: Collaborate with product designers to create delightful user journeys, focusing on performance, accessibility, and usability.

• Component Reusability & Documentation: Develop modular, reusable front-end components and ensure proper documentation and clean coding practices.

• Data-Driven Decision Making: Use analytics and feedback tools to track and understand user interactions and iterate on solutions to improve the experience.

• Innovate & Experiment: Stay up-to-date with front-end and full-stack trends, experimenting with emerging tools like Web3 integrations, AI-based user enhancements, and machine learning-based predictions.

Skills & Qualifications

• 3+ years of front-end/full stack development experience with a strong focus on frameworks like React, Vue, or Angular.

• Experience in building responsive, scalable UIs with a deep understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and UI component libraries like Material-UI or TailwindCSS.

• Proficiency in AI/ML frameworks (such as TensorFlow or PyTorch) and familiarity with Python and data science libraries.

• Understanding of blockchain and Web3 technologies including smart contract development and integration with DApps.

• Experience with API development, backend technologies like Node.js or Django, and data-centric approaches.

• Comfort with backend technologies like Node.js, Django, or equivalent, and working knowledge of API integrations.

• Experience with user testing, A/B testing, and tracking key UX metrics to drive improvements.

• A passion for clean, maintainable code and familiarity with version control tools like Git.

• Demonstrated experience in working with cross-functional teams in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
