Can you believe it's already July? The first half of 2024 flew by in a whirlwind of activity! We are hitting the ground running in H2, but first, let's take a moment to celebrate some incredible achievements from the past quarter.
H1 Recap: We Crushed It!
We kicked off the year strong, and here are some highlights that made us proud:
Silver Medal at the Starting Line! We secured a fantastic 2nd place at the African Pitch Battleground during the Africa Tech Expo in Lagos. Big dreams, bigger future!
Empowering Together: We partnered with amazing organisations like the Tuendelee Foundation, UnitedWay Greater Nigeria providing support to help them develop the talents within their network. Building a brighter future, one talent at a time!
We continued to position ourselves as thought leaders in the industry! Through strategic partnerships with organizations like NESA Chrisland, Tanzania Startup Association, The Growth Hub Africa, She Leads Africa, Knight Ventures, amongst others, we delivered impactful and insightful sessions during their programmes. Our expertise shined as Kenechukwu Uche, our growth lead, delivered a powerful session on job readiness at the NESA Chrisland Student Week. In addition, both our Founder, Kristin Wilson, and COO, Princess Edokpayi, facilitated training sessions for participants in the prestigious Bosspreneur Pathway programme by She Leads Africa.
We also successfully graduated our first ever cohort of the ASAP by Sync! programme and our 7th cohort of the STEP! Equipping individuals and startups with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive. That's the Dream!
To top it all, we were all over the map, attending events like the Jobberman Fair in Lagos, the Women Creating Wealth Entrepreneurship Development Programme in Kenya, the Africa Prize Investor Community Event, and the Industry Night Investor Reverse Event in Kenya! Connecting with the best and learning from the brightest!
These and many more are what we are incredibly proud of in H1, and we are excited to see what H2 holds!

Business News This Week
Nigeria- The number of active ISPs in Nigeria decreased from 252 in May to 242 in July 2024. This decline happened despite two new ISPs being licensed in July. The decrease suggests that 12 ISPs failed to renew their licenses in June. Read More Here.
Kenya - Moody's downgraded Kenya's credit rating due to the government's decision to forgo revenue-raising measures and raise the fiscal deficit. This move is seen as weakening Kenya's creditworthiness and potentially limiting its access to external funding. Read More Here.
Ghana- Ghana's cedi (GH¢) has recently stabilized against the US dollar (USD). This positive development comes after a period of depreciation earlier in the year. Several factors contributed to this improvement, including an IMF disbursement, a deal with creditors, and reduced corporate demand for foreign exchange. Read More Here
South Africa - The South African office property market is facing a slump due to an oversupply of office space and a decreased demand for office space. This is according to a recent FNB commercial property broker survey. The survey results show that office properties are lingering on the market for longer than retail and industrial properties.
